The objective:
As a player, I want to connect with others who share my passion for sports, so that I can build friendships and find teammates.
As a team manager, I want to create and organize events with predefined player roles, so that participants can easily join and select their positions.
As a participant, I want to view event details such as location, time, and perks (e.g., free jerseys, water, photography), so that I can decide whether to join.
Having Bella design the interface and translate both stakeholder and user needs into clear visuals has been invaluable for my development work

Things I do:

The goal was to create a smooth experience that encourages players to join events—whether with friends or strangers—while ensuring trust in the process, especially since participation fees were involved.
Task
My role was to refine the initial concept into a more connected and user-friendly journey. I needed to balance user motivations (fun, competition, social connection) with concerns about trust, transparency, and payment security.
Action
Expanded and refined the stakeholder’s initial journey into a seamless flow that reduced friction from discovery to sign-up to participate in the event.
Analyzed similar applications abroad to gain insights into what motivates players to sign up, particularly how platforms encourage users to confidently join games with strangers. These findings informed key engagement features.
Through interactive sessions with active team managers and players, I explored their pain points and motivations for joining social sports events. Special attention was given to building trust and transparency, especially since financial transactions (participation fees) were involved.
Collaborated with stakeholders and developers to ensure design feasibility, making adjustments during the process where technical constraints emerged.
Result
The refined design was completed in 1.5 months, integrating both stakeholder goals and user insights. The result was a more engaging and trustworthy journey, designed to increase sign-ups, promote participation with both friends and strangers, and build confidence in payment handling.
